  • Halton Region’s Waste Management Program Enhancements

    Posted by on February 28th, 2013 | 0 comments

Residents of Halton Region have embraced the 3Rs-Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
Ongoing participation in Blue Box and GreenCart programs has helped to divert more waste from Halton’s landfill. Residents have increased the residential waste diversion rate from 42% in 2007 to 60%- a tremendous achievement! But there is still more we can all do to conserve our landfills, which is a resource worth protecting.

By recycling and composting more, you will have less garbage. Therefore, starting April 1, 2013, Halton Region will be decreasing the garbage limit and introduce “garbage bags” for the garbage above the new limit of 3 bags/cans at the curb every other week. read more
